While searching for math videos I came across this Canadian series called Tumbletown Tales that cracks me up. I watch my videos in class on an educational site but You Tube has some of them. They teach different math concepts using rodents with voice-overs. Tumbleweed the hamster is the main character. Another character is a chinchilla named Chinchilla that can only say "Chinchilla!"
My students think these videos are hilarious and I think that I sometimes laugh harder than they do. Much of Tumbleweed's time is spent finding or eating seeds. All the episodes are only three or four minutes long. This episode gets extra points for the beat-boxing bunny and the laughing mer-mouse. It was originally called To Sail the Seven Seeds but You Tube has it listed as Seed Buffett. This episode would be a great introduction to elapsed time.

Tumbletown Tales also has a cute website with math games here. The same website has all sorts of educational games here. I highly suggest the Big Escape games. They are really fun.

How, oh how, is it possible that I am the first person to comment on those splendid educational videos?!?!?! Perhaps everyone is too stunned by Tumbleweed's mad rapping skills. Holla.
