Last Year's List-Updated

I was reading this post from the blog "A Beautiful Mess" where she completes a number of bucket list items in a year with as many items as her age. Since her birthday is just before mine I remembered that when she had done this last year I had started to do my own list. Her goals were like, pretty big. I was pretty sure I hadn't even finished writing my list, much less completed the items on it. I just went back and looked at my unpublished blog post/list. Here is what I had written and what I actually did.

34 (actually 14) things before 35:

1. finish that stupid online class and earn my 1 credit

Yes. I haven't taken another one. The last one I did was just so awful and honestly not worth my time. I'm sure I'll get back into it at some point.

2. potty train Abby

Did it!
My gray hair outnumbers my brown hair now but hooray for no more diapers (during the day)!

3. read ten grown-up books

I read eleven plus a handful of young adult books. I'm currently reading Pride and Prejudice for the first time. I've put if off for years and years because I've been afraid I wouldn't finish it or that I might not "get it." I'm more into modern novels I guess. I'm thankful for Goodreads to help me keep track of my books. Here's my page for the books I've read. Are you on Goodreads?

4. print off Abby pictures from my computer

No but I have copied them to an external hard drive. That's a BIG deal.

5. put those photos in an album

Nope.

6. purchase an album to put those photos in

Not yet.

7. sew an item of clothing for Abby

Yes! Her Halloween costume! She was a princess. Not sure if she was dancing or posing here.

8. grow my hair long and then chop it off really short

I grew it out and cut it, just not super short. I did get bangs though, that's a pretty big deal, right?

9. get an iPhone

Oh yeah. We saved up and got iPhones and I'm so glad we did.

10. update my blog AT LEAST 24 times

I'm about seven posts short but I still have seven days!

11. not eat a McRib sandwich

Still haven't!

12. go on vacation...even a mini-break

Yes. I went to Sundance with my mom. We actually went to Park City. We usually just do the SLC part of the festival and that's what we're doing this year. Park City was a joke. Loooong lines, jerky jerks, looooong bus rides, expensive hotels and restaurants. It just wasn't very fun. The movies were good though.

13. get more organized

Ha. Not even close.
That's not exactly a measurable goal either though.

14. send Christmas cards

I did it. If I didn't send one to you and you want one this year, let me know! I know I missed a bunch of friends.

I do want want to make an entire list this year and cross a few more items off. I'll probably reuse a few of these. Any suggestions?

I have taken a few classes that weren't terrible... if you want to know names, let me know....

also, I quit scrapbooking because it was too hard. But i use an online scrapbook place that is easy and not to expensive. (especially when they send you coupons when they have your email) so I just put the pictures on there... a page from each month and it becomes doable all of a sudden. Also, I started to use blurb.com.... so I print out my blog and whalla... I have a journal. so make it easy ... whatever you do!

I am unsure if I received a Christmas card from you last year, so I better get one this year!!!

You have accomplished a lot. Way to go. I see you may not make your blogging goal? I expect more from you next year! I must see more pics of Abby.
