Abby's First Birthday

Abby recently turned one! I can't believe how fast that first year went. We did it! There is nothing weirder than those first few weeks when you go from just the two of you to the two of you plus one. So bizarre. Also pretty awesome.

Being me, I totally forgot to take a picture of the actual cake but it is the lemon one pictured below. It looked pretty close to this one but with pink sprinkles too.

She loved all her presents. We are doing as suggested and hiding them and bringing them out at different times so she gets to play with toys that she forgot she even has.

I didn't want to make a huge cake mess at Fluke's parent's house so we did the messy cake thing at home. The cake I made had a meringue-like icing so it melted away overnight and didn't make for a messy cake photo. I bought a Sarah Lee cake and let Abby have at it. She looks so happy here. She is naked on top and there are towels tucked in all around her. I am not a fan of scraping food out of her high chair or her body parts.

She wasn't so sure at first.



Then she really go into it.
